At DMTM, LaStone® Therapy is offered in it's entirety as it was taught to Duane. LaStone® Therapy offers a peaceful way to return to ones true nature. This form of bodywork involves the use of heated and cooled stones (Thermotherapy) applied to the body in various ways to bring relief to stiff and sore muscles. Thermotherapy principals are just one of the ways that makes LaStone Therapy a success.
LaStone is a multifaceted technique whose therapeutic potential goes beyond measure. This "body-mind-soul" modality is one of the fastest growing techniques in today's spas around the world and is only available in western New York in it's entirety at Duane Mallaber Therapeutic Massage.
Most traditional forms of bodywork take 24 hours for the body to completely expel all the toxins that are released during the massage. However, LaStone's detoxifying effect is so great that it can take up to three days afterward for your body to finish the process. Expect more than you have experienced before in massage. A regular LaStone treatment takes anywhere from one to one and a half hours. Plan an extra half hour on top of that for intake and orientation on what to expect and how to care for yourself.
LaStone Therapy costs more than regular bodywork but when you compare time on the table and all the supplies that go into a session it is a bargain compared to other forms of bodywork.
